2019 Highlights - An outstanding year in review!

As 2019 comes to a close, we wanted to take a look back at another amazing year. These are mostly in chronological order to walk you through our exciting year. Here are a few of NAM's significant accomplishments and celebrations for 2019, which we achieved thanks to the support of our members and leaders!
  1. The leadership of NAM began the year with strategic planning to ensure that our organization is remaining relevant and meeting the needs of our members.  Our board discussions, member interactions, and member survey all continue to inform and guide this plan.

  2. In January, Nashville Medical News featured our president, V. Seenu Reddy, MD and our CEO, Rebecca Leslie on the cover of its 2019 In Charge edition!  They also named Rebecca Leslie as one of the 2019 Women to Watch.

  3. NAM surpassed our 2018 membership record, which was the highest in over 15 years, with a total of 2,241 members in 2019! We also launched a 200 for our 200th campaign to welcome 200 new members before our 200th Anniversary. Join us today!

  4. In March, Doctors Day on the Hill was a great success with more than 60 NAM members participating! Register here to join with us and other physicians around Tennessee on March 25, 2020!

  5. We hosted an event with the members of the Williamson County Medical Society to welcome and hear from the new Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner, Lisa Piercey, MD.

  6. In May, NAM had the largest representation of any medical society at the Tennessee Medical Association House of Delegates. Thanks to all of our members for supporting organized medicine at the local, state, and national levels!

  7. We conducted a 2019 member survey to hear from you - our members. 94.29% of members agreed NAM is an engaging, relevant, and influential organization. Three out of four NAM members have shared about NAM with a colleague!

  8. In November, we brought back a breakfast to honor the outstanding men and women who have served our association as president of NAM. We had such a blast at the Past Presidents Breakfast!

  9. In December, NAM launched a new partnership with the Nashville Medical Group Management Association to better serve our physician members and their practice managers.

  10. Finally, a date has been reserved for the 200th Celebration of the Nashville Academy of Medicine! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 2, 2021 for an evening you do not want to miss at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center! Corporate sponsorships and patron levels are currently available. Contact Rebecca Leslie at rleslie@nashvillemedicine.org for more information.

Thank YOU for helping us achieve such outstanding success in 2019. We look forward to everything we will accomplish together in 2020!
