Boren Awards Webinar
Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m., Online
Boren Scholarships & Fellowships allow U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests but underrepresented in study abroad. Federal service is the cornerstone of the Boren Awards program. Recipients of Boren Scholarships or Fellowships accept a Service Requirement to work for the federal government in the national security arena. This individual-driven approach means that Boren Scholarships and Fellowships application essays must include a compelling case as to why the candidate is, or will be, qualified for federal employment with national security responsibilities.

In this webinar, ONIF will provide an overview of the Boren awards- including special initiatives for STEM majors, ROTC students; as well as the African Flagship Language program, South Asian Flagship Language program, and Indonesian Flagship Language program. We will also discuss eligibility requirements and application timelines. Funding is available for Summer 2019 & Academic Year 2019-20.

Undergrads, graduate students, and alumni of all majors are encouraged to attend.
