Dear Fenwick Community,

I am writing to share the latest information in response to upsetting allegations about a member of our faculty. That faculty member is currently suspended.

Fenwick immediately launched an independent third-party investigation when allegations of misconduct were brought to our attention in December 2021 by a Fenwick alumna. We also have engaged independent legal counsel to oversee the investigation, ensure we follow best practices and provide guidance on immediate and future actions we can take.

Please know that this independent investigation is nearly complete, and Fenwick is well prepared to take prompt and decisive action based on the findings and the facts.

We understand that this process has taken longer than any of us would like. We also appreciate that many of you wish we could disclose more about the investigative findings. Because Fenwick is a cooperating participant in the investigation, we are unable to confirm specific details about how certain aspects are being conducted. What we can confirm is that any individual who has concerns pertaining to employee misconduct at Fenwick is welcome and encouraged to participate in the process.

To that end, we encourage anyone with information or personal concerns pertaining to misconduct at Fenwick to come forward. Please share your experiences and participate in the investigation by emailing your concerns to confidentialinfo@fenwickfriars.com, which our independent counsel will review.

Fenwick High School is steadfast in our commitment to providing students with a safe environment to learn and grow. We promise you that we will act promptly and transparently upon learning the results of the investigation. We will continue to work every day to ensure our students feel safe and supported, and that they have the mechanisms in place to come forward with any concerns or complaints.

Thank you for your grace and understanding.
Sincerely,

Fr. Richard Peddicord, O.P.
President
