Congratulations to BIMS major Forrest Herman, son of VTPP clinical professor James Herman, for receiving the Corps of Cadets’ 2016-17 “Outstanding Academic Senior” award.
A big Hats Off also goes to BIMS sophomore Menaka Tandon, junior Michael Andrews, and senior Andy Habib, who were the 2017 recipients of the Association of Former Students’ Thomas S. Gathright Scholar Award. Habib is now a two-time winner of the award, earning his first during his sophomore year.
In addition, congrats to BIMS graduating seniors Kendall Wolkenstein, who was nominated for the Robert Gates-Muller Family Outstanding Student Award, and Joel White (son of VSCS professor Sharon Kerwin) and Stephen Glombicki, who were nominated for the Brown Foundation-Earl Rudder Memorial Outstanding Student Award; these are among the top awards given by Texas A&M, and it’s a tremendous honor to be nominated.
On the faculty side, congratulations to Jonathan Levine, professor, Helen McWhorter Chair and head of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, for being elected as the new secretary for the ACVIM’s neurology team.
Finally, hats off to Bubba Woytek, assistant vice president for development, who received the Texas A&M Foundation's Impact Award from Tyson Voelkel at the college Development Council Meeting on Friday, May 19.
Well done to all!
