Thanks to CTE FTAs for Showcasing Formative Teaching Observations in Columbus! |
CTE Faculty Teaching Associates (FTAs) Meredith Erb and Bonnie Erwin recently presented on Formative Classroom Observations at the Faculty Idea Exchange (FIX) conference at Columbus State Community College. For an audience of faculty from across Ohio, Meredith and Bonnie shared the philosophy behind formative classroom observations, as well as advice on how other institutions can start similar programs to support their own faculty. After a primary exercise revealed many attendees’ negative associations with traditional classroom observations, Meredith and Bonnie showed them how CTE FTA-guided formative observations can be a helpful learning experience for all. Watch the CTE News for more information on fall semester formative observation opportunities.
