As the spread of COVID-19 continues to evolve, we want to assure you that National Seating & Mobility (NSM) is committed to providing your patients with safe, quality care. We’re following guidance from federal, state and local agencies and we are in constant communications with our staff across the country to be sure that we are taking the necessary steps to limit the spread of COVID-19. Our accreditation by The Joint Commission is a rigorous process we have elected to participate in for many years because the health and safety of our clients is of the utmost importance and the infection control policies we have in place meet and exceed their standards. We have provided instructions that are part of our infection control policies and additional precautions including:

Practice Good Hygiene

Stop handshaking – use other non-contact methods of greeting
Clean hands frequently and properly
Avoid touching your face
Cover coughs and sneezes
Keep Your Office Space Clean
Disinfect surfaces like doorknobs, tables, desks, and handrails regularly
Increase ventilation by opening windows or adjusting facility airflow

Follow Infection Control Policies

Clean and properly disinfect all NSM locations, vehicles and equipment
Disinfect client care areas after each client interaction, such as waiting area, evaluation rooms and service stations
Print and display poster on steps to stop the spread of germs here
Check expiration dates on all disinfectants and hand sanitizers and replace if expired
Take inventory on cleaning supplies and reorder any items if needed
Use only the disinfectants approved by The Joint Commission

Additional Precautions

Phone screening before client appointments to minimize the risk of exposure
When an employee has symptoms (coughing, fever, shortness of breath or flu-like symptoms) or someone they have been in close contact with has these symptoms, they should not report to work and seek medical attention
Limiting non-essential travel for all employees
Partnering with referral sources to ensure we are compliant with facility visitor guidelines

Additionally, NSM has activated our Disaster Preparedness Task Force made up of representatives from all areas of our organization. They have been meeting frequently to review the latest updates and take the necessary steps to determine the best ways to continue to support you and your patients. We recognize that COVID-19 may have created challenges to the continuity of care for your patients in need of complex rehab technology and our local NSM team wants to work together with you to find alternative options to ensure continuity of care. These may be alternative options for conducting appointments:

At the client’s home
In the nearest NSM branch
Delivery drop-offs at your facility
The use of telehealth where compliant and appropriate
