In collaboration with the Wasserman Center for Career Development, we are glad to offer this workshop designed specifically for MS, MPH, and PhD Biostatistics students who want to understand how their technical training translates into roles across pharma, tech, healthcare, and public health.
The session goes beyond general career advice to focus on the real expectations of employers hiring for data-driven roles today. Students will learn how to:
- Navigate current industry trends shaping biostatistics, data science, and analytics roles
- Build a technical, industry-aligned resume, including how to showcase research projects, programming skills (R, SAS, Python), and GitHub work
- Translate academic research and coursework into clear, compelling skills that resonate with recruiters
- Identify and strengthen key non-technical skills - such as data storytelling and cross-functional collaboration - that set strong candidates apart
Students will leave with a clear roadmap for positioning their academic experience, technical skills, and research background for modern data careers, along with concrete strategies they can apply immediately to their resume and job search.
