Arts Initiative director named
Michael Schreffler has been appointed director of the new Arts Initiative, emerging from Notre Dame 2033: A Strategic Framework. Also known as Arts@ND, the initiative will spearhead collaborative research projects in the arts, promote strategic curricular innovation, and stage high-visibility events with substantial community outreach.

Norma Dowd Krentz, the mother of President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., died Sunday, August 11, at her home in South Bend at the age of 88. A service was held last Friday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
