President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., travels to Japan as part of “Pilgrimage of Peace”

Father Dowd offered remarks during a delegation marking the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The “Pilgrimage of Peace” delegation included Cardinals Blase Cupich and Robert McElroy, as well as Notre Dame students and faculty, and representatives from other US Catholic universities.

Notre Dame partners with area Boys & Girls Clubs on research to close achievement gaps, reduce inequality

The community-based partnership project aims to help close achievement gaps among students who may be impacted by systematic barriers. It is funded by the Notre Dame Poverty Initiative, a University-wide effort to create a world intolerant of poverty by expanding knowledge about how to solve it.

New research from Joonhyuk Yang, assistant professor of marketing at the Mendoza College of Business, reveals how alternative data—specifically retail transaction data—can be used to create reliable credit scores for individuals without formal credit histories.
