Scranton City Pride and Garbage Olympics just around the corner
| |
We are excited to partner once again with Scranton Tomorrow and United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania for Scranton City Pride! As an annual spring tradition, hundreds of volunteers participate in clean-ups and community development projects in every section of Scranton. Taking place from May 31-June 8, Scranton City Pride will feature trash and litter cleanups, planting efforts, and other neighborhood beautification efforts. Participants can organize their family, neighbors, and coworkers to do a group project, or join up with a pre-planned service site. Go to the City Pride website HERE for more details on how to participate!
You are also invited to participate in the second year of Garbage Olympics! Taking place on June 8 as part of Scranton City Pride's week-long event, the Garbage Olympics is a project of NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania and United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Participation locations for the Garbage Olympics this year will be in Pine Brook and West Scranton, with the event consisting of a 2-hour competition between local groups to clean participating locations. To join in on the fun, register your team NOW!
The teams with the most trash collected, strangest item found, and most team spirit will all be awarded prizes. Be sure to bring your A-Game and go all out to win a shot at a team prize!
