This year, the Annual Update Legacy Gala on April 4 will bring together over 300 people, elected officials, judges, academics, celebrities, and others for a cocktail hour and formal seated dinner in honor of our founder Chuck Williams, who passed away in April 2023.
On April 5, the Annual Update will be held at UCLA School of Law. The Annual Update is the Williams Institute's signature event held each spring in Los Angeles, featuring a half-day conference, the final round of our Moot Court competition, and an awards reception.

Reflecting on the Past to Advance the Future: Celebrating a Decade of the Resnick Center for Food Law and Policy
Saluting the Resnick Center as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary, this conference will reflect on the past, present and future of the field of food law and policy.
During the first day of the conference, the center and the Academy for Food Law and Policy will co-host panel sessions on the history of and models in teaching the field of food law and policy and a workshop for selected new works in food law and policy. On the second day of the conference, the center will hold panels on climate change and food; nutrition policy, labelling, and healthy living; and how systems thinking can impact food law and policy locally, nationally and globally.
