National Physician Suicide Awareness Day (#NPSADay) is September 17. We can all help prevent physician burnout and suicide by learning the signs, starting conversations, understanding underlying barriers, and sharing the resources that can help those in distress seek mental health care.

- Burnout - In response to the growing concern of burnout among physicians, the Nashville Academy of Medicine and the Medical Foundation of Nashville have launched PROSPER to provide resources and support and to encourage Middle Tennessee physicians to reach out before they are in crisis.

| FTC Non-Compete Rule Set to Take Effect, Put on Hold by Court | |
The Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) ban on non-compete clause rules, previously set to take effect on September 4, was put on hold by a federal court in Texas. The judge found that the FTC exceeded its authority, so the rules will not go into effect as planned. Read more in the TMA’s member alert here about how to access the Law Guide for more information.
