January 27th Show at Uptown Alley in Manassas, VA
Noon to 8:00PM

February 3rd Show at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA
10:30AM to 6:00PM

Saturday Rookies and Rock 101 Band Classes are Here!

Winter Break Camp was Fantastic

We had a super fun 3-day session of rock band camp that was pretty awesome. Our theme was Emo and these girls really killed their set. We are always so amazed at what these talented young musicians can accomplish in just 2.5 days of rehearsal - great job ladies! Click the pic to see photos from the show.

House Band & JV Auditions are This Month

The time to prepare is NOW! House Band and JV House Band Auditions are right around the corner!

Our audition-only bands are comprised of our best-and-brightest. The students in these bands are given more challenging material at a quicker pace and have to rise to the challenge.

Auditions will be held at the school in mid-January specific dates/times TBD).

Step One for the Audition Process:

If you are interested in trying out, there is a mandatory student/parent meeting on Friday, January 11th at 5PM at the Vienna Community Center for all those auditioning. There are no exceptions to this meeting so make sure you arrange for both the auditioning student and their parent/guardian to be in attendance.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please speak with Travis or Dante regarding the audition process and criteria.

Alumni Reunion Show

We had a fantastic time with our Alums rocking the stage at Epicure Cafe on Dec 22nd! It is so gratifying to see that they are all still so good and even better than when they left us. It was such a heartwarming and fun event that they are now planning a summer show as well. Many of our alums are rocking their own music and bands so stay tuned for information on local shows so you can support them. Student Spotlight: Alexa D.

What is your favorite thing about School of Rock Vienna? My Favorite thing about School of Rock Vienna is how everyone works together somewhat as a family. Everyone shares the same goals, and many share the same interests.

What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned from your time here? One of the most helpful things I've learned is how to work well in a group setting and how to problem solve on my own

What advice would you give to all the new SOR student musicians? My advice is to never compare yourself to others, because you're always where you need to be. Just keep practicing and you will improve.

If you could be in any band or artist (past or present) who would it be and why? Probably Rush, because I would love to see how they write their songs.

SOR Policies and Code of Conduct

The new year seems a good time to refresh our students and parents on our Code of Conduct and school policies to ensure we are all on the same page. Please take a moment to read these important reminders to ensure you and your student are good to go.

Holiday & Inclement Weather Close/Open Procedures

With the holiday winter season upon us, we want to remind you about how we communicate closures.

Inclement Weather
We do not follow the county school closures. Frequently they make decisions in the morning based on whether or not the buses can maneuver through the neighborhoods. We make our decision to open/close based on whether or not our staff can safely come to work. If we are open and you cannot make your lesson, we will do our best to find a make up lesson for you but cannot guarantee you will get one.

We will announce our Open/Closed status on inclement weather days by 1PM by sending you an email (Pike 13) and posting on our school Facebook page and in our show groups. So be sure to check your inbox and social media prior to heading out. See our links below and like us on our FB page.

Upcoming Holidays
We will be closed the week of December 24th thru January 1st.

Please Note: Four inclement weather/holiday closures are built into your tuition fee schedule and no make ups are given for these closures. Should we go over the four built in days, we will schedule a make up day to cover the closure. We have already had our make up day for the winter break closure.
