Northeast
Quincy Media's ABC affiliate/WPTA-TV (Channel 21, Fort Wayne) promotes reporter Kayla Stewart to weekend news anchor. In 2016, Ms. Stewart became an intern at "ABC21". A year later, she earned a promotion to reporter.
Northwest
On July 16, Northwest Indiana Public Broadcasting's PBS affiliate WYIN-TV (Channel 56, Gary) went off the air, after storms damaged their transmitter site near Cedar Lake. The outage impacted both over the air (antenna) and viewers who ge their local TV via satellite.
WYIN-TV engineers determined the transmitter couldn't be repaired, so they purchased a new one, but it's not yet on site. That's because television spectrum auction repack has increased transmitter manufacturers' business, so there's a waiting list for new transmitters. In the meantime, they hope a loaner transmitter (at lower power) will be online by the end of this week. WYIN-TV broadcasts PBS programming on their .1 main channel, and NHK World Japan on their .2 subchannel.
Our thoughts are with Purdue University men's basketball voice Larry Clisby as he fights stage 4 lung cancer and metastatic brain cancer. Since Medicare doesn't cover all of his medical costs, there's a GoFundMe page. In 1977, Mr. Clisby arrived in Lafayette and joined WASK(AM) and WASK-FM, and then became the voice of Boilermaker men's basketball in 1984 (along with nearly a decade calling Purdue football games). Mr. Clisby also worked as an WLFI-TV sports anchor. Earlier this year, the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association's Hall of Fame inducted him.

Where Are They Now? Jeff Weber, former Local Sales Manager at WGCL(AM) and WTTS-FM was recently named GSM at L.M. Communications' AAA/WCOO ("The Bridge 105.5") and WYBB ("98 Rock") in Charleston, South Carolina.
Southwest
Raycom's NBC affiliateWFIE-TV (Channel 14, Evansville) morning anchor and reporter Lauren Artinoexits, and journeys to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she joins WXIX-TV as areporter. "14News" did this farewell video tribute to Ms. Artino.
Where Are They Now? Former WFIE-TV News Director and WFIW Radio broadcaster Len Wells joins The Navigator Journal in Grayville, Illinois, northwest of Evansville.
