District News: An E-Newsletter for Roseville Area Schools Staff and Families

News for February 2, 2022

From the Superintendent
February 2, 2022
Good Afternoon Roseville Area Schools Families and Staff,
We are all devastated by the shooting in Richfield that tragically claimed the life of one student and critically injured another, and have joined the chorus of districts across the state and nation who have offered support and assistance to the District 287 community. What they are going through right now is something that we hope never to have to experience in our schools.
Our building leaders and staff stand ready to support students and will draw on resources to help students who may need to talk with a caring adult. The Minnesota Department of Education offers many resources for talking with students about tragedy. If you have questions about how to talk with your student about terrible events such as this, you may find helpful tips among these resources. You should also feel free to reach out to school staff if you or your student are in need of support.
Finally, the transition back to in-person learning this week has gone very smoothly thanks to the support of our families and the tremendous work of school staff. While we continue to have positive cases among staff and students, the numbers are declining along with numbers in our community. Please continue to be diligent about checking for symptoms daily and staying home when experiencing any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Jenny Loeck, Ed.D
Superintendent
