Our Director of Making, Prof. Kevin Galloway, is looking for clients who need prototyping support & are willing to work with students in his fall course – How to Make (Almost) Anything & Make it Matter. In the course, students learn rapid prototyping methods including design drawing, computer aided design tools, 3D printing, laser cutting, molding and casting, sewing, composite fabrication, & more. In parallel, students work with a client (maybe you!) & follow the human-centered design process to prototype solutions that matter.
If you have an idea and want free prototyping support, please reach out to kevin.c.galloway@vanderbilt.edu before the semester begins on August 24th, to learn how his course could help make your idea real. Past projects have included new tools for Soldiers at Fort Campbell, assistive devices for families & students at Susan Gray Daycare, fairy garden concepts with Cheekwood, manufacturing tools for Thistle Farms, & many more.
