This year's Alumni Luncheon sold out at 600 tickets and raised $83,000 for scholarships. Everyone had a wonderful time seeing old friends and celebrating the accomplishments and service of The Honorable Dustin McDaniel, Representative Jimmy Gazaway, and Tamika Silverman Edwards. On Oct. 24, Bowen honored the generosity and accomplishments of Sam Perroni, one of our earliest alumni, by dedicating classroom 307 in his name. Sam and his family arrived in Little Rock in 1971 so he could attend law school part-time in the Little Rock Division of the University of Arkansas School of Law, which is now Bowen. “Best decision I ever made," Perroni said. "Other than marrying my wife.”

The UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and the Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts have announced the creation of the Arkansas State Court Fellows Program.

The program will educate law students about the profession of court administration and the career opportunities available in the state and federal court systems. 

Arkansas Supreme Court Chief Justice John Dan Kemp and State Court Administrator Marty Sullivan will be at the law school on Nov. 8 at noon to discuss the program with Bowen students.

Applications for the program will open in late January or early February 2020. The first Fellows will be placed in June 2020.

This new partnership recognizes Philander Smith College’s commitment to preparing students who aspire to law school and provides guaranteed acceptance to Bowen for Philander graduates if they earned a minimum cumulative UGPA of 3.4; scored a 154 or above on the LSAT; and have no character and fitness issues that would disqualify them from being admitted to the bar.
