Sakai access ends May 31 - take action today!
GOODBYE, SAKAI:
MAY 31 IS THE LAST DAY TO ACCESS SAKAI
You will be able to access your previously created content in Sakai until May 31, 2025. User access to Sakai will be disabled on June 1, 2025.
For course content currently in Sakai that you would like to re-use again or save, you have two options:
- Have it migrated into Canvas
- Download and save it to your own computer or cloud storage option
Information about both of these options is available on the Leaving Sakai page. We advise you to act as soon as you are able to save any content in Sakai you do not wish to lose.
If you need assistance with either option, Learning Innovation & Lifetime Education staff have increased their availability throughout the rest of the semester to help in the following ways:
1. 25-minute one-on-one consultations to provide personalized assistance in transitioning from Sakai to Canvas (select the "Sakai to Canvas Help" appointment option).
2. Our open online office hours are offered twice weekly from 1 - 3 pm every Monday and from 10 am to noon every Thursday - no appointment needed.
3. Via email at canvas@duke.edu - send us a message and we will work with you to determine how we can best help.

HOW TO HIDE GRADE DISTRIBUTION GRAPHS FROM STUDENTS' VIEW
If you do not wish for students to be able to view the grade distribution graph for your course, follow these instructions to hide it:
- In your course site navigation, open Settings.
- Open the Course Details tab.
- Check the box for "Hide grade distribution graphs from students"
- Click "Update Course Details"
When the grade distribution graph is hidden, students can view their score, but cannot view any other aspect of the graph, including the high, low, and mean scores. More information about hiding the grade distribution graph is available from Canvas.
Starting with Summer 2025 courses, the grade distribution graph will be hidden by default in all Duke University and Duke Kunshan University Canvas sites.

DEMONSTRATE YOUR DEDICATION TO ACCESSIBILITY WITH THE UDOIT SUPERSTAR BADGE
The UDOIT (Universal Design Online Content Inspection Tool) badge recognizes the work instructors do to check for and resolve accessibility issues in their Canvas courses through the UDOIT tool. You can earn the badge by using UDOIT to scan your course, resolving accessibility issues, and reflecting on the process.
