Loves About Brebeuf
I love the opportunities we are given as students. Being able to choose what classes we take, what clubs we are a part of, and what sports we play gives students the ability to explore what path they will take outside of Brebeuf.
Favorite Class
AP Psychology with Mrs. Bobis has to be my favorite class I’ve taken at Brebeuf. Mrs. Bobis was always so much fun in class, and she always left me with a smile on my face.
Future Plans
I’m undecided on where I’m attending college, but I will be majoring in Business and continuing running Cross Country and Track in college.
Teams & Co-Curriculars
Varsity Cross Country
Varsity Track & Field
Entrepreneurship Club
Ultimate Frisbee
Random Facts
I worked as a lifeguard over the summer.
I have a large scar on my foot from a bicycle accident when I was younger.
What has been your favorite Brebeuf experience or most memorable moment so far?
This past fall, during Cross Country, I helped lead our team to our fourth straight appearance at the State meet. Having my last high school Cross Country meet be at the State meet was a truly memorable experience, and having some of my best friends racing along side me made it even more meaningful.
Any big spring break plans?
I am going to the Dominican Republic with my family and a few friends. We’re staying in a nice resort with a lot of fun activities to do, so I’m expecting to have a great time.
Ultimate Frisbee is now a varsity sport.  How did you get involved?
I’ve been playing frisbee since a friend showed me how to play in middle school. When I was a freshman, I was introduced to the club team by alum and former cross country teammate, Drew Okenfuss '15.
As a senior, what advice do you have for all the new Braves in the Class of 2021?
Make sure you take advantage of the opportunities that are available to you at Brebeuf. Somewhere out there, there is a club, sport, or other activity that you can participate in and feel welcomed. Brebeuf offers a very accepting atmosphere, so don’t be afraid to branch out!

Ultimate Frisbee Now a Varsity Sport

The Brebeuf Jesuit Athletic Department is proud to announce the addition of Ultimate Frisbee as a varsity sport, effective during the Spring 2017 season. The team has been operating independently since 2005, and has grown to include both junior varsity and varsity teams with over 30 participants. Brebeuf’s new designation is a unique milestone as the team will be the first in the state to integrate the sport into the athletic department.
This past February, the team finished as the runner-up in the Indiana Indoor State Championships and will compete in the Indiana Outdoor State Championships in May. The Ultimate Frisbee team will also host several games at Brebeuf Jesuit this spring against other Indianapolis area schools.
John Keele, a teacher in Brebeuf’s Learning Center, has been named the head coach of the program. John has been playing Ultimate Frisbee since his sophomore year of college at Indiana University and continues to play in leagues in the Indianapolis community.
The team will practice from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Three games have been scheduled for the Spring season and coaches are in the process of scheduling more. The team is co-ed and is open to all participants.
For more information, please contact Mr. Keele at jkeele@brebeuf.org
