Dear Student,
Congratulations on receiving an A or A- in your English 1 class. As you know, your grade exempts you from the second half of the First-Year Writing requirement (that is, English 2), but we encourage you to continue in the First-Year Writing Program anyway. Generally, the more instruction and practice undergraduates receive, the better they write.
If, however, you are registered or waitlisted for English 2 and have decided not to take the course, it is critical that you drop the class as soon as possible to allow those on waitlists to be enrolled.
You can drop courses online via SIS (go.tufts.edu/sis). For assistance in accessing or using SIS, please contact the Student Services Desk at (617) 627-2000 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
