SMPA STUDENTS INTERVIEW DIRECTOR COMEY AT CNN TOWN HALL
Melody Magly, B.A. '20, and Zach Schonfeld, B.A., '22 had the chance to ask former FBI Director James Comey questions on live TV during a CNN AC360 town hall on Thursday evening hosted by Anderson Cooper at the CNN D.C. studio.
Magly asked whether the Trump presidency has affected political corruption while Schonfeld asked if there was anything in the Mueller report that surprised Comey.

NLGJA SCHOLARSHIPS AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS
The NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists offers several mentorship programs and scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 for LGBTQ students majoring in journalism or mass communication.

PEOPLEGROVE SCHOLARSHIP FOR ESSAYS ON MENTORSHIP
PeopleGrove offers $2,000 scholarships for full-time students who reflect on the importance of mentorship in their education or how they plan to be a future role model for the next generation of students.
JULY 1
HUB FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Hub Foundation awards up to 15 scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to support research that focuses on or includes Islam and Muslim voices or perspectives. Their goal is to help develop future scholars, teachers and leaders who can contribute to cross-cultural understanding and improving foreign and domestic relations.

Cheryl W. Thompson was named a Dateline Awards finalist by the Society of Professional Journalists DC Chapter in the Magazine Features category for Murder and Memory.

Joanna Rodriguez, B.A. ‘13, joined the National Republican Senatorial Committee as press secretary. Previously, she was communications director for Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) and Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) and digital director for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

INTERFAITH BACCALAUREATE
GW class of 2019 graduates, families and friends are invited to join President Thomas LeBlanc for a morning of thoughtful reflection the day before Commencement on the National Mall.
The Interfaith Baccalaureate Service celebrates the diversity of faith traditions at the university and how they support our community's commitment to service and learning.
This event will feature performances by the GW Department of Music, meditations from clergy representing various faith traditions, personal reflections from graduating GW students and a reception following the ceremony.
The Interfaith Baccalaureate is open to ALL members of the GW Community.
