Dear Friends,

With the current climate of the coronavirus and action steps being taken by many different organizations, we wanted to keep you updated on how this will impact our work with kids on the Upper East Side.

As a global mission, Young Life has been monitoring and responding to COVID-19 or coronavirus in locations where the outbreak has been most serious. Young Life's leadership has been following the guidance of national and local health professionals and mirroring what local schools are doing. We will continue monitoring the decisions of local and state officials to ensure our team makes the proper decisions moving forward.

Young Life has implemented missionwide precautions to do our part in limiting the spread of the virus. To that end, we are placing the following temporary restrictions in place, effective between Sunday, March 15, and Friday, April 3:

1. All Young Life Upper East Side Club events will be canceled.
2. We will not hold large group gatherings (defined as 30 people or more).

With all this being said, our hope and desire is to remain connected with kids throughout our neighborhood and city. We want to help them process what they are experiencing, encourage them and walk with them. Our leaders and staff will be creative in how this happens. Please let us know if you have a student who would like to connect with a leader during this time.

For more information, please read Young Life's Coronavirus Action Plan, which also has details on our current plan to continue with summer camping. Feel free to reply to this email with any questions or concerns.

Lastly, I would humbly ask that you join us as we continue to pray for the peace of God to overwhelm our community in this time of uncertainty. Specifically, we are praying for  wisdom for our local NYC officials in the face of challenging circumstances.

Grateful,
Young Life UES Team
