MBA Class of 2019 welcomed in Hyderabad, India
On November 23, 2017, Dean Horváth welcomed MBA students studying in Hyderabad, India for year one of their program.  During his presentation, the Dean provided each student with a  copy of Re-Imagining Capitalism and shared a number of key updates on the School’s continued growth and innovation.  Students were also treated to a special mini-lecture on business history by Professor Matthias Kipping, Richard E. Waugh Chair in Business History. 
You’re A Part of It: MBA Class 2019 - Hyderabad, India 
During the recent trip to India, David Bell and Aloma Gravel from the Alumni Relations team welcomed the MBA Class of 2019 and oriented them on the range of services and initiatives available through the You’re A Part of It student-alumni program.  The Alumni Relations team looks forward the engaging with the students through the online community schulichalumniconnect.com and their participation in the mentorship program.  
Alumni and Friends Reception - Mumbai, India
On November 22, 2017 alumni and prospective students gathered to reconnect and hear the latest updates from Dean Horváth.  As part of the event, the School was honoured to welcome special guest Mr. Jordan Reeves, Consul General for Canada in Mumbai.  Consul General Reeves shared greetings with the group and remarks about the strong and vibrant collaborations between India and Canada.  All enjoyed reconnecting with each other at the Taj Mahal Palace.  Schulich alumnus, Arvinder Singh Chopra (MBA 2009), was the lucky winner of a Schulich affinity prize pack – congratulations Arvinder!
Re-Imagining Capitalism Book Launch & Dialogue – Mumbai, India

, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons Limited, Dominic Barton (Hon LLD '12), Global Managing Partner, McKinsey & Company, Sanjiv Mehta, Managing Director & CEO, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Krish Iyer, President & CEO, Walmart India Private Limited, Kishore Moorjani (BBA '94, MBA '95), Senior Managing Director & Head of Tactical Opportunities Asia, Blackstone, were some of the speakers that joined Dean Dezsö J. Horváth on November 22nd at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai for an engaging half-day forum focused around the themes emerging from the Re-Imagining Capitalism book.  More than 100 Alumni, industry professionals and friends attended this milestone event.   
Re-Imagining Capitalism Book Launch & Dialogue – Hyderabad, India 
Hyderabad was the second stop for the India launch of Re-Imagining Capitalism.  The Dean was joined by Suresh Krishna, Chairman, TVS Group, B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman, Cyient Ltd, and Matthias Kipping, Richard E. Waugh Chair in Business History, Schulich School of Business who participated in a lively discussion about responsible business moderated by V. Raghunathan, CEO, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation & Director, Schulich School of Business, Hyderabad Campus.

Say 'Yes' to Supporting Innovation, Excellence and Student Access in 2017!

You may have recently received a phone call from a student Annual Fund representative or found a special Annual Fund package in your mailbox. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about how you can offer direct support to Schulich's student body, now numbering close to 3,000 degree students, through the Schulich Annual Fund.
By making a 2017 year-end gift to the Annual Fund, a special initiative of Schulich's Leading Change Campaign, you will join fellow alumni who are part of a proud tradition of giving back. Your gift, directed to either the School's Highest Priorities or Student Financial Aid, will provide essential and flexible resources to your School and contribute significantly to the delivery of a student experience that is dynamic, ahead of the curve and uniquely 'Schulich'. Your donation to the annual fund will recieve a charitable tax receipt and a variety of giving options are available to you. Every gift matters and has impact at your School. 4th Annual EMBA Gala

On November 2nd, Kellogg-Schulich EMBA Alumni attended the 4th annual EMBA Gala at the University Club in Toronto. Alumni enjoyed networking with their classmates, welcoming the newest graduates, and celebrating highlights from the past year.  Attendees heard an engaging keynote from Mary Ann Yule (EMBA '11), President & CEO, HP Canada Co., and remarks from Professor André deCarufel who announced his retirement.  A special thank you to Sandie Huynh (EMBA '14) and Zara Lam (EMBA '13) for organizing the Gala.

Disruption in Content Distribution

On November 15th, Schulich alumni gathered for an exciting evening of dialogue with award winning alumni Neil Court (MBA '86), Executive Chairman, and Vince Commisso (MBA '92), Co-Founding Partner, President and CEO of 9 Story Media Group. This exclusive event, hosted in The Social Studio at Bell Media, provided alumni and students in the Arts, Media & Entertainment specialization an excellent opportunity to network and learn more about a rapidly evolving industry.

IMBA Social

On November 8th IMBA alumni gathered for the annual IMBA social hosted this year at the Rosewater in Toronto.  Alumni enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with their classmates and to hear updates about the program from Professor Alexandra Campbell

Global Mining Talent Forum

On November 24th the Mining Program in collaboration with the Schulich Mining Alumni Association hosted the Global Mining Talent Forum. Remarks were delivered by Claudia Mueller, Associate Director, Global Mining Management. A panel discussion featured Zoe Nutten, Vice President, Talent Strategy, Barrick Gold; Major Paulette Taylor, Personnel Selection Officer, Canadian Armed Forces; Glem Dias, Leadership and Talent Strategist and Director, Global Talent Centre, Schulich Executive Education Centre; and moderator Richard Ross, Inmet Chair in Global Mining Management; Director, Global Mining Management.

Join us in Remembering Professor Gordon S. Roberts

Alumni are invited to join us on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at 5:30pm at the Schulich School of Business as we share our memories and honour the legacy of Professor Gordon S. Roberts.  Professor Roberts was an inspirational teacher both in and out of the classroom; he was nominated many times by his students for the Seymour Schulich Award in Teaching Excellence and was named Kellogg Schulich EMBA Professor for four consecutive years.

Bryden Awards

The Bryden Alumni Awards are given to outstanding York University Alumni. This year on November 23rd, three Schulich alumni were awarded.  Congratulations to Colleen Johnston (BBA '82) for Outstanding Achivement, J. Mark Lievonen (BBA '79, MBA '87) for Outstanding Contribution, and Abdullah Merei (MBA '15) for One to Watch.

Schulich Insights Features Over 35 Alumni Speakers

On Friday, November 3rd the Graduate Business Council (GBC) at Schulich brought more than 35 Schulich alumni back to campus to share their industry knowledge and advice at the annual Schulich Insights Conference.  Keynote speaker Raj Mehta (IMBA '95) spoke about relationships and building your network at Schulich as well as following and sharing your passion. Alumni panels followed throughout the day focusing on marketing, entrepreneurship, business analytics, mining, real estate and infrastructure, health, supply chain and operations, arts, media and entertainment, accounting and finance, sustainability, and consulting.

Schulich Insights is an opportunitiy for Masters level students to learn more about industry trends and prospects from Schulich alumni.  This event, hosted by the GBC, is organized in conjunction with Program Directors, Faculty, and the Alumni Relations Office.
