'I DIG IT' WEDNESDAYS!!!
Join us for 'I Dig It' Wednesdays at the end of September through October to plant trees! Access to trees, green spaces, and parks promotes physical activity, reduces stress while improving the overall quality of life in a neighborhood. Do you know which neighborhood has the least amount of tree canopy in the City?
If you said Camp Washington you're right. Only 8% of Camp Washington has tree canopy cover. Together we can change that by planting 50+ trees to increase greenspace and canopy cover in the neighborhood.

PROGRAM & RESOURCES

GREENSPACE
Our Help-A-Lot Program is back!
Is there a vacant lot in your neighborhood that needs a lot of help?
Help-A-Lot allows local groups to raise funds for their organization by recruiting volunteers to abate properties designated by the city. Keep Cincinnati Beautiful provides the tools and equipment to clean and mow the properties, while the Department of Public Services provides garbage and yard waste collection.

EDUCATION
We’ve been modifying our programs to go virtual!  We set up a studio and have been learning video editing, production, and animation. In addition to virtual presentations, we will have supplemental materials like games/handouts, book recommendations, and nature activities!

GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP

If you’re looking to get involved but can’t make an already scheduled event you can register to host your own cleanup event!

When you register your event, we will help you with supplies, logistical support, and promotion to get more volunteers to join in on your efforts!

ARTS
We are hard at work finishing up the New Lines summer mural series in collaboration with ArtWorks. Throughout the summer we have worked with 16 of the ArtWork’s Youth Apprentices on nine different murals all designed by local female artists. The goal of the series, located in the alleys of Over The Rhine and Pendleton, is to use public art to transform the neglected public spaces in a way that builds community, fosters communication, and creates something pretty spectacular for all to enjoy. Stay tuned in the next couple weeks as our team finishes up and we announce our dedication event to be held later this Fall!

SPONSOR AND GRANT UPDATES

We are thrilled to be the recipient of two Ohio Arts Council (OAC) grants for over $11,000 to support the Arts program! The OAC Sustainability grant will help support ongoing programming in each of our target neighborhoods and the OAC ArtsNext grant will provide funding for a few special projects as part of our New Lines mural series. Thank you to Ohio Arts Council for your ongoing support. We can’t wait to get to work!
Cincinnati is beautiful. We’re committed to keeping it that way. Our education, revitalization, and environmental initiatives build community and foster pride in the places where we live, work and play. Our grassroots network of neighbors, sponsors, and volunteers put passion to work across all 52 neighborhoods, creating safer, cleaner spaces and a higher quality of life for everyone.
Rise up, Queen City. Rep the crown.
