Tennessee Partners with Kentucky to Strengthen Circular Economy
|
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is a core partner on a new National Science Foundation Engines Development Program award. The project, “Advancing carbon centric circular economy technologies for advanced manufacturing solutions,” is led by a coalition named Generate Advanced Manufacturing Excellence for Change, or GAME Change.
The GAME Change coalition focuses on the Southeastern Commerce Corridor, including the I-65 and I-75 thoroughfares and the promising high-growth centers of Louisville and Lexington in Kentucky and Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga in Tennessee, which outline an Appalachian region in need of greater connectivity and economic resiliency.

Expanding Horizons Cohort Members Announced
|
Seventeen UT research leaders have been selected to participate in the 2024 cohort of ORIED’s Expanding Horizons Program. The program provides development, mentoring, and capacity-building opportunities that will build the skills and knowledge necessary for the transition to leading convergent research projects that will result in major scientific breakthroughs.

| Chancellors Innovation Fund Announced
ORIED is introducing the Chancellor's Innovation Fund (CIF) to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among researchers and faculty. The CIF supports technology commercialization, technology-based startups, and entrepreneurial opportunities on the UT Knoxville campus and its institutes. Selected participants may receive up to $50,000 for their endeavors.
