Computing Clubs:
Women in Computing acts as a support network and resource for women in technology by providing many social, academic, professional development, community outreach, and network opportunities. Some of their activities include homework help for students new to the School of Computing, a fall career panel with guest employers, game nights, coding workshops for github, discord bots, and more.
Women in Computing meets weekly on Wednesday from 6-7pm in Kirkhof, Room 1142.
The CIS Computing Club has a couple great opportunities this fall to meet and connect with some of our amazing professors. On October 20th, Professor Rafiq plans to talk about his research, interests, and tips for interviews. Pizza and other food will be served. On November 3rd Professor Dowling is coming to discuss her research in visual analytics. She will be giving demonstrations for some of the interactive visualizations that she helped develop, as well as discussing some of the ways that visual analytics research incorporates ideas from lots of other areas including statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, interface and interaction design, cognitive psychology, and more.
Computing Club meets Thursdays at 6 pm in the EOS Lab (MAK A-1-105).
