Dear Student,
Please note the last day for all undergraduate students (except first-year undergraduate students, first-semester transfer students, and first-semester REAL students) to withdraw from full-term courses is Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET via SIS. Students who withdraw from courses before this deadline will receive a grade of W. Students may not withdraw from a course after this date; enrollments that continue beyond this date will be graded at the end of the semester in accordance with course grading policies. Academic deadlines for first- and second-session courses can be found on the academic calendar.
Undergraduate students interested in changing their course grading method for fall-term courses to pass/fail must fill out the Pass/Fail petition form by Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. This is a firm deadline for which no exceptions will be granted. We strongly encourage students to discuss their decisions regarding pass/fail grading with their advisors. Once a student submits a form to change a course grading method to pass/fail, it cannot be undone. Please see the Pass/Fail Option web page for additional information about pass/fail grading. Pass/fail deadlines for A- and B-session courses can be found on the academic calendar.
For students who are billed per credit, making enrollment changes such as changing (including swapping) and dropping classes are subject to the per-credit refund calendar. The refund percentage is based on the length of course being dropped and the date the course is dropped. Other fees, such as mandatory lab or material fees, are not pro-rated.
*F-1 or J-1 visa holders, please contact InternationalCenter@tufts.edu before dropping below full-time (12 credits for undergraduates and 9 credits for graduate students) if you do not already have prior authorization.
If you have technical questions about withdrawing from courses in SIS or completing the pass/fail petition form, please feel free to contact Student Services at 617-627-2000, by email at StudentServices@tufts.edu, or in Dowling Hall. For advice on whether to withdraw from a course or elect a pass/fail grading basis, please contact your advisor or advising dean.
