Registration for Summer and Fall 2026 is ongoing! Over the last two weeks we have had wonderful volunteers working tirelessly alongside LCLC Staff at the registration table and helping spread the word about our departments to as many students as possible. Scroll down to see photos!
Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish instructors: Your language students can apply now to become a tutor/LLA! Applications are open for our current 104, 113/114, and 200+ students. Many of our current LLAs are giving presentations in 104, 114, and 200+ level courses: thank you to instructors who have welcomed them to class so far!
Know any students interested in Spanish who would make great leaders? Want to help students get more involved in Spanish events at UIC? The Spanish Club is currently accepting applications for several board member positions! More about the opportunity:
|
“This application is for those interested in joining the Spanish Club executive board. Open roles include the Co-President (Communications & Administration), Secretary, Social Media and Marketing Chair, and Events Chair. These positions help the club organize academic and cultural events, collaborations, and fundraisers while maintaining its registration and funding. The application is open to any UIC student interested in on-campus leadership and motivated to grow UIC's predominant Spanish-language student organization. Prior leadership experience isn't required to apply, and applicants are free to share why they believe they are a good fit for the role.”

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACSL) is leading a social media campaign this week: help LCLC and LCSL send the message on whatever platform(s) you use that we need more humanities and social sciences scholars and research! Make a proactive and straightforward case for specific fields and areas of study in the humanities and social sciences and include one or both of the ACLS hashtags (#TalkAboutHumanities and/or #TalkAboutSocialSciences).
