Dear Students,
Arriving on campus for the start of the semester feels like it was just yesterday. And yet here we are, closing in on December. While the speed at which the fall semester passes always amazes me, I am also somewhat inexplicably surprised that the holidays are here. It happens every year. They just sneak up on me.
It has been a fall term of many contrasts. The joy and stress of being together again. A time of renewed possibilities and optimism, with continued uncertainty and challenges. We are all still imperfectly recalibrating, and I want to acknowledge that although it’s hard, here we are, trying. That gives me hope.
I am so grateful to have the privilege of serving as your dean. It is a pleasure and an honor to support you. If we have not met directly yet, I hope that we will do so soon.
No matter how you choose to spend this week’s break, may you find joy, peace, and restoration. Take time for yourself and recharge. And reflect on the opportunities, accomplishments, and most importantly, the people that make you feel grateful to be who you are.
Wishing you a lovely holiday,
Camille Lizarríbar, JD, PhD
Dean of Student Affairs and Chief Student Affairs Officer for AS&E
