For Olexandra Shevchenko, a registered nurse on the cardiovascular floor at Houston Methodist Hospital and a student in The University of Texas at Arlington’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, her job and her studies usually came first.

But in February 2022, her focus turned elsewhere: her home nation of Ukraine, which had been invaded by the Russian military.

Congratulations to Crystal Alvarez, masters student in Exercise Science. Crystal recently received a research award from the International Motor Development Research Consortium. They received several high quality proposals and felt hers best fit the I-MDRC mission.

UTA College of Nursing and Health Innovation and School of Social Work won 1^st Place in this year’s Distinguished Building Awards competition in the General Contractor – Educational Facilities 3 category.
