Oasis celebrated the launch of Africa and the Bible from A to Z, a book that teaches African children to be proud of their Christian identity. Tim Welch, the author, was present at the event and shared his hope for children to grow their faith through the book. The launch was held during the Africa Speaks Roundtable Consultation, an initiative for Christian publishing solutions in Africa.
"In the thoughts of countless Africans, a question lingers: is Christianity merely a faith of the white man. Dr Welch's dedicated work in showcasing evidence of the significant gathering in Tunisia (Africa) for consolidation of the Scriptures, alongside the narratives of African figures and their impact in God's word presents a revitalizing view. This book illuminates the deep-seated African influence on Christianity long ago, disrupting the belief that it's solely a faith of a particular culture."

Africa has always been a part of God's story. Just like the African ancestors who followed the God of the Bible, readers can be proud of their culture and their heritage of faith.

More Bibles for Kids in Schools

More fantastic news! Sight of God Ministries in Ghana has recently distributed Bibles to not one, not two, but seven schools! The students were thrilled to receive the brand new Bibles which they can use both in class and at home. This is a remarkable initiative that will go a long way in enhancing the spiritual growth of these young minds.
Steven Quartey, a teacher at Yellow House School, said,  "Previously, the students had to rely solely on my questions during class, but now, with their new Bibles, they take an active role in their understanding of the scriptures. As per the parents, the Bibles have positively impacted the students' behavior after they return home from school."
The students were overjoyed to receive new Bibles, which they can use in the classroom and at home and share with their family members.
Oasis in French Speaking Africa
A church community in Cameroon benefiting from Oasis’ French resources.
Many French-speaking churches are indigenous and independent of Western influence or support, yet hunger for God's Word persists. Since its launch, La Bible d’étude: Perspectives Africaines, or La BEPA has been widely acclaimed and embraced in Francophone Africa, with high demand for the first print run.
Training events have equipped church leaders with tools to engage with La BEPA, fostering a profound understanding of Scripture. A notable success was the event held in Côte d'Ivoire, with 250 prominent church leaders eager to integrate La BEPA into their ministries.
The training team is composed of seasoned theologians and trainers from the Bible Societies in French-speaking countries.

The National Director for African Enterprise in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Leonard Kiswangi, hosted a launch event at the Protestant Cathedral in Kinshasa. Pastors and national church leaders celebrated La BEPA. The culturally relevant Bibles are a valuable discipleship resource for pastors and leaders in Francophone Africa. One pastor said, "This study Bible provides me with a school of theology in my hand."

Celebrating Lives Changed in Partnership with IFES
The Oasis and IFES (Intervarsity) partnership has been bearing fruit over the past few years. We are excited to announce a $17,000 matching grant to further the distribution of Bibles to student leaders in Africa. This grant could not come at a better time as IFES expands its reach in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, and Nigeria.
For example, IFES reaches over 50,000 students in 176 colleges and university campuses in Ethiopia. Because of friends like you, IFES provided Bibles to student leaders at a regional conference. As these student leaders understand and internalize God's Word, they increasingly resemble Christ and can share their testimonies more effectively.
Evangelical Students and Graduates Union of Ethiopia (EvaSUE) - the IFES student ministry in Ethiopia
A part of the new matching grant will provide Bibles at the next student conference in Ethiopia. Many Ethiopian students face persecution for their faith, yet they persist in praying, fasting, and witnessing to God's miraculous work in their lives. Despite the progress Oasis and IFES have achieved, many campuses still need to be reached by the message of the Gospel. We are excited for the generous supporters who will help us transform the next generation for Christ in Africa and have their gift matched dollar for dollar.
