2017: A Year in Review
Here is what YOU made possible in 2017!
Thanks to YOU, Lucy's Love Bus:
  • Provided 77 new children with individual grants for integrative therapies, and continued to fund the therapies of over 100 LLB kids, including: 4 nutrition consultations, 4 pieces of special equipment, 4 wigs, 10 reiki sessions, 14 fertility preservation appointments, 14 sign language lessons, 16 cheerleading practices, 21 aromatherapy/essential oil sessions, 25 art therapy sessions, 36 days of camp, 40 acupuncture sessions, 45 yoga lessons, 50 naturopathy units, 50 weeks of adaptive or recreational sports, 61 personal training sessions, 83 gymnastics classes, 102 therapeutic horseback riding lessons, 131 massages, 166 dance classes, 272 weeks of gym membership, 285 music therapy sessions, and 296 swimming lessons, ... for a total of 1810 units of service from January through December!
  • Brought music, yoga, and massage to 563 patients, plus over 400 family and staff members at partner hospitals through The Healing Room™ - and that number continues to grow!
  • Visited 13 schools and engaged over 1250 students in activism and philanthropy through the Lucy's KidCorps™ and Lucy's LoveSquad™ program.

And of course, we have a new home in Amesbury, Massachusetts! Our new space includes 2 offices, a massage room, a group meeting room, and The Sajni Center-- the main room, filled with natural light, that will house our programs and workshops for children with cancer or life-threatening illnesses and their families. Psst... mark your calendars: we're having an open house on January 27th!
  • Patrice Baker joined the staff of Lucy's Love Bus as our 3rd full-time employee, serving in the role of Director of Development! We also welcome our new Donor Relations Assistant, Lisa Guthro!
  • Maggie Bornstein, a lifelong volunteer for Lucy's Love Bus, was selected as a Myra Kraft Community MVP through the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation; she attended an award ceremony at Gillette Stadium, and Lucy's Love Bus received a $5,000 donation!
  • Our dear friend and Board Chair, Jerry Murphy, completed his 6-year term limit and has passed the baton to nonprofit expert and Amesbury native Jodi DeLibertis. Jerry, co-owner of Old Court Pub in Lowell, guided our organization with passion and that renowned Irish moxy throughout his term, and will continue to be an invaluable resource as a member of our Advisory Council.     d golf tournaments held by Siemens, The Old Court Pub and Portsmouth Knights of Columbus!! Whew, so many generous folks!
  • And a very special shout-out to our extraordinary friends at Boston Solar, who donated $24,000 in 2017 to provide bedside massage therapy to children at Tufts Floating Hospital for Children.

This funding will help us continue to make a difference in the lives of sick children, well children, and community members in Amesbury, New England, and beyond in 2018.
