Dear First Name,
Welcome to GW Law! We hope you are excited and proud to be starting here this fall. We are thinking about you as the summer hits full swing, eagerly anticipating your arrival, and planning for your Orientation and beyond. You can find information about Orientation on the GW Law Orientation website

Over the summer, we will send you additional messages and update the site as information becomes available. While our team is still finalizing the full Orientation Schedule, later this summer we will launch the GW Law Orientation App, which will include the complete schedule, event information, campus resources, maps, and real-time notifications throughout Orientation.  In this message, you will learn more about who we are and find important information and deadline reminders.

It contains all required action items, important deadlines, and previous communications sent to incoming students. The site will be updated regularly throughout the summer, so we encourage you to bookmark it and check back often for the latest information and updates.

✅ Complete as Soon as Possible

  • Activate Your GW Identity & Accounts
Claim your GW identity and set up your GW and GW Law email addresses.
  • Prior Law School Transcript Requirement
A complete, final official transcript must be received to finalize your Admissions file. This is a requirement of the American Bar Association (ABA).  If you are still enrolled in coursework or are waiting on grades to post, send your transcript to the Admissions Office using inatgw@law.gwu.edu as soon as possible.
  • Submit Immunization Records
Upload your records through the Student Health Services portal. Please note that the Student Health Center website shows the deadline as June 15; as an incoming law student, you must still do so.  Your records should be submitted as soon as possible.
  • Complete the Incoming Student Resume Form
Your responses help us create the incoming class profile for faculty.
  • Mandatory GW SHIP Enrollment (Waiver due September 12, 2025)
All law students will be automatically enrolled in the GW Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for 2026-2027. If you have other acceptable coverage, you must waive enrollment by September 12, 2026, at University Health Plans. Please note that the waiver form will be available on August 1st.

  • Registration for Accommodations (Complete ASAP, but no later than November 4 for exam accommodations for Fall 2026)
