Dear Sojourn Fans,
Literature does not pause for pandemics. Books have been beloved companions during these months of awkward, but essential, isolation.
As our coronavirus story continues to unfold, our collective setting does not: long-term social distancing remains a cold, hard fact. It will come as no mystery that we’ve decided to postpone our 28th annual Literary Sojourn until September 11, 2021.
We are thrilled to share news that our previously announced cast of authors has committed to join us in 2021: Maaza Mengiste, Julia Phillips and Master of Ceremonies Jess Walter. They will come together live in the Strings Pavilion, along with additional authors to be announced during the year ahead.
While the world’s plot remains uncertain for 2020, we are confident that the shared magic of Literary Sojourn resides in an intimate, personal exchange between authors and fellow book lovers. We are grateful for your enthusiasm and eternal support, and we share your disappointment in this 2020 pause.
We are committed to a safe and healthy Literary Sojourn, and we look forward to the most exuberant celebration of rock-star authors and wonderful novels when we reconvene on September 11, 2021. In the meantime, we trust that books will continue to fill your hearts and imaginations.
May you and yours stay well.
