Apply to Be a 2026 Summer Scholar! |
Spend this summer working closely with a faculty mentor and a cohort of like-minded students from across the disciplines in Tufts' Summer Scholars program, a 10-week program that provides funding to pursue an independent research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. If you are interested in this opportunity, join us at an upcoming information session on Wednesday, January 21, at 12 noon.

| Upcoming StAAR Center Workshop |
Join the Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center on Wednesday, January 21, at 12 noon–1 p.m. for Reading with Purpose: Strategies for Effective Learning. In this workshop, participants will learn how to manage a heavy reading load for both assignments connected to coursework and reading lists developed for your own research projects. Our resources are free and open to all undergraduates. Workshops are held in person on the Medford/Somerville campus.

2026 Tufts Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration |
On Thursday, January 22, at 5:30 p.m., join this annual celebration recommitting Tufts to the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year's theme Lift Every Voice is inspired by the 1963 speech "I Have a Dream." The event will feature Ladies of Essence; S-Factor, the 2026 winner of the MLK Student Voices Award; the Tufts Wind Ensemble; and Regie Gibson, the first Massachusetts Poet Laureate who will also speak on our theme. The event will be recorded and livestreamed. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available.

On Friday, January 23, at 1–3 p.m. in Alumnae Lounge, join Tisch College and friends for the first ever Winter Org Fair! Learn about student groups with a shared passion for creating civic communities on and off campus. From service learning to international research trips, come find your civic home.

FREE Introduction to Mindfulness Class |
Are you looking to de-stress, improve your sleep, or decrease self-judgment? Student Life offers a free Introduction to Mindfulness class that can help with that! Intro to Mindfulness is a free four-week class beginning Sunday, January 25. Classes meet in person at Tisch Library. No prior mindfulness or meditation experience is required. We'll also be offering a Mindfulness 2.0 class for returners!

- Consult with the instructor if you are adding a class without having attended to ensure you can catch up on any missed work.
- Enroll in and attend a back-up course if below 12 credits.

Getting instructor permission or being added to the Canvas site does not enroll you. You must enroll in SIS.
- If granted permission to enroll, remove the course from your cart, then re-add it and enroll.
- Verify your enrollment on your unofficial transcript.

- Deadline for first-year Engineers is February 15.
- Deadline for sophomore A&S students is March 1.

Engineers Week returns February 22–28! Hosted by the School of Engineering, this weeklong celebration highlights creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving across Tufts. Events are open to all students, faculty, and alumni, no engineering background required. Join us for hands-on activities, talks, and community moments that showcase how engineering connects us all.
