Next weekend, all Ospreys and friends are invited to join Ozzie and the UNF Alumni Association for another night of baseball as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp host the Nashville Sounds.
We learned that both UNF and JU are hosting their alumni nights at the ballpark during the same game, so it looks like we've got ourselves an impromptu showdown.
PLUS, as an added bonus, we will be hosting a pre-game Alumni Tailgate at "That Bar At The Arena" from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. before walking across the street to the game. The first 25 alumni who stop by our table will get their first drink for FREE!
The deadline to register is Wednesday, May 15, so purchase your discounted tickets using the link below, wear your Osprey Blue and let's show the other school who runs this town!

Adventure is out there for Ospreys Claire (’07) and Matt (’05)! They #MetInTheNest in 2004 as partners for the annual Homecoming skit and they started dating soon after until Claire left on her study abroad trip to Italy. Matt intended to visit her but couldn’t get away from work. However, that experience planted a seed that would reappear in the future.
During the pandemic, as the world slowed down, the travel bug finally caught up to them. They decided to take their children (Jack, Helen Halsey & Georgia Grace) on a trip around the world. Learn more.

| This month, we're switching up our usual Local Business Showcase as we fell in love with these guys at a rock show. This local band comprised of UNF alumni recently opened for indie rock darling flipturn at the River City Railway.
Psychedelic funk outfit Liza Attic consists of Jordan Smith ('24) on vocals and guitar, Cole O'Hallaron (‘21) on guitar, John Jones (‘21) on drums, EJ Rivers on bass guitar and Micah George on keys.
The band met at UNF while living in the dorms and surfing during their undergraduate studies and found a mutual passion for music in the process.
UNF journalism alumnus Tyler White ('11) goes beyond the music with Liza Attic to discuss how they met, how it feels to be opening for a major act and how the band hopes to honor the legacy of founding vocalist Max Higney following his death in 2022. Watch here.

Sydney (Shrader) Mattiace is no stranger to making history on the golf course, but this week is special. She was just named Head Golf Pro at Sawgrass Country Club, the first female head golf professional in the club’s 50-year history.
Mattiace left a legacy on the UNF Women’s Golf team, finishing third in the 2017 ASUN Championship to clinch the programs 2nd NCAA berth. She was also named all-ASUN in 2018, 2019 and 2020, and was an ASUN “Winner for Life” due to her community involvement. Learn more.

In late 2023, Adkins followed his passion to bring a new venture to life. He founded the Fort Lauderdale Flyers, the first professional men’s volleyball team in South Florida.
The Flyers compete in the VLA (Volleyball League of America). They opened their inaugural season earlier this year with a clean sweep of the Atlanta Bobcats in front of a packed crowd.
Not only does Adkins oversee all marketing and creative efforts, but he also plays Libero for the team. Learn more.
