THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITYÂ
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the community partners and volunteers who have supported Micah’s Pantry and Silver Santa this year. Your generosity ensures our seniors receive the essentials they need to live with dignity and comfort.
Micah’s Pantry has made a meaningful impact by providing crucial items like food, personal care products, and pet supplies. Last year alone, 45,000 pounds of food were distributed, easing food insecurity for many residents.
Silver Santa continues to bring joy during the holiday season. This year, thanks to your kindness, 80 seniors were adopted by individuals, businesses, and clubs in our area. Gifts will be delivered on December 12th to brighten their holidays and make the season truly special.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our seniors. If you’d like to get involved, contact Tina at 540-443-3413.

HOLIDAY CHECK-IN WITH WARM HEARTH AT HOMEÂ
The holidays offer a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and assess how they manage daily life. While phone calls provide regular updates, an in-person visit may reveal changes you hadn’t noticed before.
Here are a few key areas to observe during your visit:
- Are they clean, dressed appropriately, and maintaining good personal hygiene?
- Have you noticed changes in their weight, balance, or energy levels?
- Is their home safe, tidy, and free of hazards?
- How is their driving during the day and at night?
- Are they engaging in social activities and maintaining a good quality of life?
If you notice concerns, start with a calm conversation to share your observations and discuss potential challenges. Brainstorm solutions together, and, if needed, seek professional support.
Whether you or a loved one needs assistance, Warm Hearth at Home is here to help. To learn more about our services, call (540) 443-3428 or visit WHVatHome.org.

HEALTHY HOLIDAY TREATS AND GIFT IDEASÂ
The holidays are full of delicious flavors and indulgent treats, but this season, why not get creative with healthier alternatives that still satisfy your cravings and make great gifts or decorations? Here are a few ideas that are both festive and nourishing.
Healthy Sweet Treats: Skip the store-bought candy and try making your own healthier options like baked apple chips, energy bites, or dark chocolate-dipped fruit. These treats are naturally sweet and satisfying.
Homemade Nut Gifts: Give a gift of homemade spiced nuts. Roast almonds, walnuts, and cashews with cinnamon and a touch of honey for a tasty and protein-packed treat.
Decorate with Fruit: Use fruits like oranges, apples, and pears for a beautiful, edible holiday display. Once the season is over, enjoy them as a fresh snack!
Fruit Desserts: Try a fruit salad with cinnamon or baked apples with honey for a naturally sweet alternative to sugary holiday treats.
By making these small, healthy adjustments, you can enjoy the festive spirit of the season while keeping your body nourished and energized. Whether you’re gifting homemade goodies or decorating with edible treats, there are plenty of ways to make this holiday season both delicious and healthy.
