OFFICIAL 2017 LUCIE WEEK EVENTS, OCTOBER 25-29
CULMINATING WITH THE 15th LUCIE AWARDS ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29
October 20, 2017 (Los Angeles, CA) – Lucie Foundation presents the annual IPA Best of Show and the first annual Lucie Photo Book Prize exhibitions and party on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Splashlight in Soho, NYC. Earlier that week, The Lucie Technical Awards take place on Wednesday, October 25, presented by Lucie Foundation and hosted by PhotoPlus Conference + Expo, at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Other events celebrating the 2017 Lucie Honorees, finalists and jurors are also scheduled throughout the weekend, by special invitation only.
The Lucie Awards, produced by the Lucie Foundation, a nonprofit charitable foundation, honor the achievements of the world’s most accomplished photographers, discover and cultivate emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of photography worldwide.
Curator and art consultant Patricia Lanza, curated the Best of Show 45 winning images by 43 artists, representing work from 20+ countries from the 2017 competition. This exhibition is sponsored by

Also on October 28 at Splashlight, Lucie Foundation is pleased to introduce the Lucie Photo Book Prize. This juried competition is open to a diversity of book submissions - from traditionally published to prototypes, hand-made books to zines. The awards will be presented to photographers, editors, curators or publishers who have created such projects anywhere in the world within the last 24 months of our public call, starting July 25. Lucie Foundation is proud to offer two cash prizes to the top two finalists for their outstanding work - one Traditional $3,000 cash prize and one Independent $2,000 cash prize.
