Summit for AI Institutes Leadership (SAIL) 2025
The Summit for AI Institutes Leadership (SAIL) 2025 was October 21-23, 2025, outside Washington, D.C. New this year, each of the now 29 NSF AI Research Institutes sent two early career representatives (graduate students and postdoctoral scholars) to showcase their work with the institute, and connect with the broader NSF AI Research Institutes community.
Yuwei Wu, a PhD student in electrical and systems engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, represented TILOS robotics research with her poster Learning Smooth Trajectories for 3D Rigid Body Motions under General Left-invariant Riemannian Metrics. UC San Diego PhD student in computer science Daniel Beaglehole showcased TILOS research in the foundations of machine learning with his poster How theory for feature learning in neural networks can lead to better non-neural models in practice.
