Prepare for Commencement 2025 |
|
|
Dear Student,
Thank you for verifying your diploma name earlier this month. We previously notified you of the March 16 deadline to verify your diploma name in SIS; however, if you missed that deadline, you can still make updates until March 31. If you need to change your diploma name after March 31, we are not able to guarantee the change will appear in the commencement book. Diploma names can be updated up until the last day of classes this spring.
It's now time to let us know if you plan to participate in the all-University celebration and your department ceremony.
These details can be shared through the My Commencement page in SIS. It will open for responses on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and needs to be completed no later than Thursday, April 24, 2025. Additional details regarding the process are available online.
To access the My Commencement page in SIS, log into SIS and select "My Graduation Status."
You will be asked to provide the following:
|
-
Alignment Area: Graduate students will align for the all-University celebration on May 18, 2025, in front of Houston Hall. Students should be at their alignment area dressed in regalia by 8:15 a.m.
-
Number of Guests: To provide a comfortable day for all, please estimate the number of family and guests who will attend the ceremonies. Tickets will be required for guests to attend commencement ceremonies; however, there is no ticket limit, and the tickets will be free of charge. Details regarding tickets will be made available in a few weeks.
-
Record Your Name: Once you select which ceremony you will attend, copy and paste the link under Event Notes to record your name as you wish it to be announced at the ceremony. If you plan to attend more than one department ceremony, make sure to record your name for both events. Please make sure to record your name before senior week begins.
|
Make sure you are ready and eligible to participate in commencement 2025 events by completing the applicable item(s) below.
|
- Complete Your Exit Survey: All graduating students are expected to complete an exit survey. Students will receive an email from the Office of Institutional Research towards the end of April with instructions and a unique link to access and complete the survey.
-
Complete Loan Exit Interview, If Applicable: If you have borrowed a student loan to attend Tufts, you will be required to complete a loan exit interview which explains your rights and responsibilities as a loan borrower. Additional communications will be sent to your Tufts email beginning in early April.
-
Financially Cleared: All graduating students must pay any outstanding balance due to the university prior to degree conferral. Please review your student account in SIS and settle any outstanding balance owed to Tufts. If you have an available credit, make sure to submit your refund request in SIS prior to the end of the semester.
-
Email for Life for Tufts Alumni: Starting with the class of 2015, alumni have the option to keep their @tufts.edu email address and have incoming email forwarded to a personal account. To send your @tufts.edu email to a personal account, follow the step-by-step email forwarding instructions. If you will be graduating soon, you should also forward or copy any emails that you want to keep. They will be deleted from Tufts' servers after you graduate.
- Cap and Gown: If you have not already ordered your regalia, visit the bookstore to place your order.
-
Claim Commencement Boxed Lunch Tickets: Each graduate is eligible to receive three complimentary tickets a boxed lunch. One ticket is to be used by the graduate; the other two are for the graduate's guests. Details regarding claiming your tickets are available on the Commencement website.
|
You can pick up your Marching Card beginning May 13 at 10 a.m.–5 p.m. at Student Services in Dowling Hall Lobby; you must bring your photo ID, have completed exit counseling, and have a $0.00 balance in your student account. The status of these checklist items is updated regularly beginning at the end of April to reflect your status as it relates to these requirements. You can check these messages as needed in SIS on your My Commencement Page.
General Commencement information can be found on the Commencement website.
Thank you for your timely response and we look forward to Commencement 2025!
