What's New with PDX Next: Get to Know the New Space and Sensory Room Update
You've explored the new PDX, you've admired the beautiful wooden roof and you've celebrated how locals made PDX the local-est airport yet. Now, brush up on your vocab and make sure you know what all those cool spots are called.
Concourse Connector: We're starting off with a refresher – the Concourse Connector is back! It's the hallway that connects the B/C and D/E Concourses.
Ticket Hall: This is the area with all the ticket counters, located on four aisles.
The Garden: Past the ticket hall you'll walk through the garden, a cluster of real-life trees, ferns and other foliage thriving under the skylights.
Market Hall: Giving a Portland walkable neighborhood vibe, the market hall is home to seven of the 24 new and returning shops and restaurants that are located pre-security.
The Steps: The coolest place to hang out while one of PDX's beloved musicians plays, you can hike up the stadium stairs – or take the escalators or elevators – to the top steps to get a better view.
The Mezzanine: Up the steps is the mezzanine, where you'll find Loyal Legion, all-user restrooms, the Lost and Found office and the classic PDX carpet!
Sensory Room Closure: Heads up! The PDX sensory room is closed for a little bit longer, until Thursday, Sept. 5. The PDX Maintenance team is installing a small mock fuselage gifted by Alaska Airlines to help travelers reduce stress and build confidence by practicing being in a plane before they fly.
