Program Information — Honors Undergraduate Thesis
Please share this with your classes!
The Honors Undergraduate Thesis is a two-to-four semester program that allows motivated and talented junior and senior students the opportunity to undertake original and independent research in their declared major or another discipline under the supervision of a faculty committee. This research culminates in a thesis or creative project, which serves as an honors capstone product of their undergraduate career. In addition to Main campus, the program is offered at several UCF Connect campuses, including UCF Online. The Honors Undergraduate Thesis is available to all qualified UCF students and grants them the distinction of graduating from the Burnett Honors College.
Please share this short (3-min) video in your in-person or virtual courses: https://tinyurl.com/HUT-intro
Become an Honors Undergraduate Thesis Chair!
There is a growing demand for faculty members to serve as thesis chairs for incoming Honors Thesis students. Whether you are new to UCF or have chaired a thesis committee before, we invite qualifying faculty (tenured, tenure-track, and lecturers) to fill out this short form: www.tinyurl.com/HUT-thesis-chair. The information collected in this survey will be restricted to the Office of Honors Research staff – not posted online.
If a student needs help finding a thesis chair, the hope is that we will have at least one or two faculty members with similar interests to recommend to the student. The Nicholson School would appreciate if you can take the survey and distribute it to your colleagues, so everyone has the opportunity to get involved in this rewarding program. Participating faculty receive an honorarium for each student who completes their thesis.
