Dear Colleagues,
Getting a medical device from concept to clinical impact is incredibly difficult. In fact, 75% of medical device companies fail—even if their products receive FDA clearance or approval. For students who enter into industry jobs straight from their undergraduate programs, success can be even more difficult to find.
For both our undergraduate and graduate students, Duke BME places an emphasis on faculty with industry experience and projects with hands-on design requirements to help bridge this gap. And the results speak for themselves. Please join me in taking a closer look at some of the programs and success stories that are already making an impact on patients' lives.
