Dear Student Affairs colleagues,
As we come to the end of another academic year, I want to thank you for all that you do to encourage and champion our students. Your work makes a difference every day and I am truly grateful.
Please note these few reminders as we close out the year:
|
-
Thank you for continuing to encourage students to share their internship and employment plans through the First-Destination Survey. Understanding who has secured a position or is heading to graduate school allows us to better support and reach those who are still navigating their next steps after graduation.
-
Graduation activities have already started! There is still time to volunteer for our WashU Affinity Student Celebrations. I encourage you to sign up and celebrate our students.
- The University-wide Commencement Ceremony is on May 15 at 9 a.m. on Francis Olympic Field and the ceremony will also be streamed online.
-
Nominate a colleague for the annual Student Affairs Staff Awards by May 29 and help recognize the hard work of your fellow Student Affairs professionals.
|
Finally, I am really looking forward to spending the day with you at Professional Development Day, May 20. This is a great opportunity for us all to learn from one another and share our expertise.
Warmly,
|
Anna "Dr. G" Gonzalez
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

The Student Affairs Professional Development Day is May 20. The event was created by Dr. Anna Gonzalez to focus on staff development and connection. This year's theme is Together Towards Tomorrow: Cultivating Collaboration and Growth. We will be joined by University Admissions and Financial Aid. The online event schedule will be finalized in advance of the day.

Nominations for the annual Student Affairs Staff Awards are now open and close May 29. Division of Student Affairs staff who have been employed two or more years can be nominated for more than one of the eight awards in a calendar year. Nominate a colleague.
