Dear Members of the University Community,
We write to update you on the status of campus events that are scheduled to occur on Jan. 19-21.
We have determined the following:
- Many parents and families are on the Mountain to attend Opening Convocation. That event will be held as scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday in All Saints’ Chapel. For parents and families who cannot celebrate their students’ accomplishments with us today, please know that there will be an alternate gowning ceremony at a later date.

- The Friday night basketball games against Rhodes College will be played, however the Friday reception for the 100 Years of Basketball celebration has been canceled. The alumni game and dinner on Saturday will be held as scheduled. If any of these plans change, we will send out immediate notification.
Our staff in Facilities Management are working hard to continue clearing streets and many of our sidewalks. However, we caution participants and attendees at this weekend’s events to exercise extreme caution in navigating their way to and across campus.
