Dear parents and families of WashU Class of 2028,

We enjoyed meeting the families of our Friday move-in students today, and look forward to meeting the rest of our families tomorrow for their Move-In Day!

We invite you to preview the Parent & Family Orientation schedule. 

For families arriving tomorrow, we ask that you follow move-in instructions, review the Fall 2024 Move-In Guide, and follow the guidance summarized below. Please arrive to check-in at your student’s assigned time. We thank you for your patience as we work to welcome you and your student to campus.

This email contains a lot of information, so please stick with us. Much of this is a repeat from the email you received on Monday, August 12. If you only take away three things:

1) We hope you join us for Parent & Family Orientation.

2) If you need information, resources, or assistance, please visit us in Student Transitions & Family Programs office on the South 40 across from Bear's Den. We will be running an Information Station Saturday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

3) We hope you and your student are excited!

The sessions will be recorded, and Parents as Partners will also be livestreamed. The livestream link for Parents as Partners will be available on the families website. All recordings will be uploaded next week to the families website.

Resource Fair & Lunch Rotation: Noon - 3:00 PM
Various Locations
Please attend the rotation that corresponds with the first letter of your student's last name. The first rotation is from Noon - 1:30 PM, and the second from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM. Please refer to the schedule for more information about your family's recommended rotation. (Note: the printed schedule incorrectly lists both rotations as Noon - 1:30 PM.)

If your student is a new varsity athletic team member and your family is attending this welcome reception, please attend the Resource Fair during the Noon - 1:30 PM rotation.

To celebrate the launch of the new WashU brand, the Campus Store is sharing a coupon to enjoy $25 off your $100 clothing and gift purchase. To receive the $25 off, you will need to follow the steps on the WashU Campus Store coupon.

Fall Welcome will begin the evening of Move-In Day and conclude the evening of Saturday, August 24. During Fall Welcome, your student will meet with their WUSA small group, engage in academic experiences, and participate in a long-standing university tradition: Convocation. 

There are two Move-In Days: Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17. Students can view their self-selected check-in date and time through the housing portal on WebSTAC.

Have your student contact Residential Life with any questions about housing assignments or move-in.

Free parking in yellow spaces is available on campus through Sunday, August 18. Families are encouraged to select the East End Garage for long-term parking during your visit. Long-term parking is not available on the South 40 (where first-year residences are located) on Saturday, August 17. 

Walking tours of campus will be available on Saturday, August 17. Tours leave from the South 40 Clocktower hourly beginning at 1:00 PM; the last tour leaves at 4:00 PM. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a water bottle and a hat.

Fall Welcome is a busy time on campus, especially during lunch. Plan ahead and learn more about dining location hours and tips to navigate meals during this busy time by checking the Fall Welcome Dining Hours page on the Dining Services website. Most campus orders are now made through the Grubhub app. If you do no not have the GrubHub app yet, download the Grubhub app now to stay on schedule and enjoy your meal!
