Juana Antonio Brings Great Service to the Table
Juana Antonio (she/her) with Caper's Café provided service so delightful it turned a passenger’s frown into a smile:
“Juana was super friendly, super professional and helped turn my cruddy day around. Even though she was already closing, she graciously sat me anyway and then quickly served me a drink and a sandwich.
She is a stellar server, and I appreciated the heck out of her going out of her way to get a less than pleasant, stressed-out customer what he needed. Thank you, Juana!"
Juana was a winner at the PDX People Customer Service Awards, where we recognize airport employees who truly stand out as extraordinary. Missed the last virtual awards ceremony? View the event recording or read about past winners.

PDX Welcomes British Airways Non-Stop to London Heathrow Starting in June
Last Monday, British Airways announced that their long-awaited flight to London Heathrow will start in June 2022. The flight will be operated by a Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner, starting with five times per week, on a year-round basis.
Adding an airline with British Airways’ strong global brand recognition to PDX’s non-stop network is a notable accomplishment – their reach will help bring new visitors to Oregon and give our community more choices to serve their travel needs. As a founding member of the Oneworld Alliance, British Airways is also an important partner to two of our existing airlines: American and Alaska. The economic impact of a year-round transoceanic flight is approximately $100 million for the Portland and Southwest Washington region.
New Mural Unveiled on Concourse B
PDX now has a new mural celebrating Oregon's diverse culture. "Celebrate Oregon!" is the work of Eugene artist Liza Burns and the mural includes symbols from different aspects of Oregon's history and culture. The artwork can also be seen on a new license plate design which debuted in October and was created to mark the Oregon Cultural Trust's 20th anniversary. The organization conducted a statewide search for an artist to create a license plate design to commemorate the occasion and to highlight the diversity and history of Oregon.
PDX in Pictures
Is there better reason to stop and "paws" for a photo while at PDX? The DoveLewis therapy dog teams can be found around the airport, bringing smiles and joy to travelers and employees alike! If you have a photo of life around PDX, email it to PDX People Communications – we might use it in a future PDX in Pictures.
