2024 Bowling State Qualifying Meet Sites Announced
Dear Bowling Schools,
We are reaching out to let you know that we have posted the State Qualifying Meet (SQM) sites for the upcoming bowling postseason. A reminder that girls state qualifying meets will be Feb. 12th and boys state qualifying meet will be Feb. 13th this season. We will be releasing the team assignments at a later date.
The SQM sites were drawn from the site availability forms completed by bowling schools.
State Qualifying Meets serve as both an individual tournament and a team tournament. Teams will bowl 15 baker games and the top total pins would advance to the State Meet. Class 3A and 2A state qualifying meets will compete at four sites with eight teams at each site, with the top two teams at each site qualifying for the State Team Tournament. Class 1A will compete at eight sites with the champion at each site qualifying for the state team meet.
Please note: it may be possible that not all girls and boys teams will be assigned to the same site to ensure we are making the best state qualifying meet for both boys and girls.
Individuals at the state qualifying meet will bowl three games. The top eight scores from each Class 3A/2A site qualify for the State Individual Tournament for a total of 32 individual qualifiers. The top four scores from the eight 1A state qualifying meets will qualify for the state tournament for a total of 32 individual qualifiers.
Each team entering the state qualifying meet will be allowed to enter six (6) individual bowlers and one (1) substitute for the meet. A lineage fee per gender team ($100 for a boys’ team and an additional $100 for a girls’ team) will be paid by each school to the assigned host facility of each qualifying meet.
To follow the bowling advisory recommendations for postseason assignments, it is essential that bowling schools enter and maintain their stats in Bound. As a reminder, the Bound reporting deadlines are on the following dates this season:
Tuesday, December 12
Tuesday, January 9
Tuesday, January 23
Tuesday, February 6
