YL hands everywhere!
Friends,
It's hard to go to a Young Life event or club and not see the YL hand sign.
It's important to know, however, that we are not trying to BE God. We are trying to point adolescents TO God.
We believe Young Life is a tool God can use to bring more kids, age 12-22, to Himself and to the freedom of life-how-it-is-meant-to-be.
We do that through connecting kids to a Young Life leader, and then connecting them to each other, so that we can hopefully connect them to Jesus. That's what the "YL hand sign" is all about. It represents a place of safetly and acceptance. As someone in one of our small groups has recently said, "It was great, I'm glad I went. We talked about purpose and grace . . . I'm glad I didn't feel ignorant from not knowing how to navigate the Bible or anything." (emphasis added)
This week, please pray that more junior high and high school kids, more college students, more teen moms, more adolescents with disability, would find a place of safety to discover the truth and grace that are found in Jesus, maybe at one of our 25 small groups or clubs going on this week. "...NOW is the time of God's favor, NOW is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2)
