As we begin the spring 2025 semester, we have an exciting lineup of events. The Career Colloquium will take place February 3 - 7. This week-long event is packed with workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to prepare you for the next steps in your career journey. GPAS has started their weekly Co-Working Space, meeting every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. in Alumni Hall Lounge (Room 100).

Nominate Faculty for Excellence in Teaching Award
The Department of Faculty Development needs your help to nominate one of your professors for the Faculty Excellence in Innovation Teaching Course Design and Instruction Award. This award is one of the most prestigious honors we bestow upon our teaching faculty. By nominating a professor, you are helping the Chancellor and Provost select faculty who are outstanding in their work supporting, inspiring, and challenging students in the classroom.
The nomination deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 24 and recipients will be announced in April.

Digital Lab Python Workshops
The Library's Digital Lab will be hosting a series of four biweekly lessons that will get you started with the basics of the Python programming language. No prior coding experience is required, but be sure to bring your laptop. They will meet every other Tuesday afternoon from 2:45 - 4 p.m. in the Lab's classroom toward the back of the 4th floor of the Central Library.

| English Language Center Programs
Registration is now open for the Spring Courses at the English Language Center (ELC). The ELC offers one cost-free English language course each fall and spring semester for Vanderbilt undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, as well as VU faculty, staff, and scholars who speak English as an additional language. They also offer 1:1 consultations on speaking, pronunciation, and writing.

Language Tables
Co-hosted by faculty and students, weekly language tables offer regular conversational practice with native speakers and language learners of all proficiency levels. At these informal, drop-in sessions, participants come together to talk, learn, practice, and build community. Language Tables can also serve as tutoring sessions for anyone who needs support in their coursework. All in the Vanderbilt community are welcome to join any time, and no signup is required. If you are interested in participating as a co-host or want to ask a question, please contact Professor David Johnson, Language Table Coordinator.
